Your Greatest Hits
When was the last time you've been to a music store, or shopped online for your favorite CD's? Did you find any of your favorite artist's "worst hits" albums?
I suppose not. That's because the artists and record companies know that it's the hits you want. You want the best they have to offer, and love them because of it.
This might seem like a pretty silly question at first, but think about it, what are you selling each day? Is the world around you aware of "your" greatest hits?
Every one of us has a greatest and worst hits album within us. (Even those of us who think a "crescendo" is an Italian breakfast pastry.) I'm talking about the beliefs, integrity, and qualities that make up our personalities and accomplishments. Think if you were to show up at work, or at your best friends house, stuffed into a CD case and shrink wrapped, not a pretty picture I'm sure. Yet when the people you know and love, open you each day, what would your album be like? What would they hear on tracks 1 - 10?
Here's a quick exercise:
Take a piece of paper, and at the top write your name. Next to your name write “Greatest Hits, Volume 1".
Now make a list from one to ten down the page. Title each line, "track 1, track 2, etc.”
These do not have to be in any special order. Just have fun!
Write the ten greatest accomplishments you have made mixed in with the best qualities you represent. Here's your chance to really give yourself a hand.
Just let it flow. Write the first things that come to mind. If you draw a blank, ask someone to help you. Sometimes there's no better honest opinion that of the people who "listen" to your Greatest Hits each day.
So how did you do? Are you satisfied with your results? What would you change?
Now, just for fun, make a similar list. This time, on each "track" line, write the ten greatest accomplishments and qualities that you "would like" to see in your upcoming "Volume 2".
Really let your spirit soar on this one! Now, you have a road map. A clear set of ten goals to accelerate your life.
People love to be around others that shine. Just think how much your job, your relationships, your LIFE would improve if you began showing your best qualities to the world. If all anyone ever saw was your "worst hits", how would they ever see the greatness in you?
We tend to get caught up in our busy schedules, as if we've hit the auto pilot. It's times like that, we need to look at the wall and see "our greatest hits". You didn't hang it yet? That's OK... I'll wait.
Keeping little reminders around will help you to focus... and what we focus on expands. Whatever you are thinking, saying, and feeling, all contribute to what's happening around you. Your experiences are nothing more than a reflection of what's going on inside of you.
I will repeat that...
Your experiences are nothing more than a reflection of what's going on inside of you.
A very important statement that I recommend you memorize and say repeatedly to yourself as often as possible. Learn to look inside. Learn to recognize what your feeling, and how you are expressing it. Your life actually does depend on it. Well, the quality of it at least.
When we focus on problems, that's all we will find; and as you would probably have foreseen, if we focus on prosperity and solutions, then that would indeed be what we find as well. It sounds so simple, right? Well... it is! It just takes a willingness and discipline to recognize the thoughts we're focusing upon. I know, I know... a small price to pay for personal freedom, and a life of bliss.
It's time to take responsibility. So, breath in deep, and exhale the best you.
I will leave you with this. Let the world see your Greatest Hits! It is what they've come to the show for. Don't keep them waiting any longer.
Remember... The only thing without a shadow is the light itself!
