Fun Ways to Learn Spanish
If you are really looking for fun ways to learn Spanish, visit a Spanish speaking country
where you can truly immerse yourself in the culture. However, most people want to learn
Spanish before they visit because chances are they are only going to be there for a short
while for a vacation. They may want to learn some essential Spanish phrases before they
go. Most children now study Spanish in school and teachers try to incorporate fun
activities into the lesson plans so that the students will be eager to learn and not become
bored.
There are so many fun things you can do when teaching Spanish that you may have a
hard time deciding just which one to choose for each lesson. There are many books and
CD's you can buy that contain the music and lyrics to Spanish songs. Young students can
easily remember the words of a song better than they can just plain vocabulary, so
teaching through music makes perfect sense. For example, you can teach basic Spanish
vocabulary by teaching students a song and showing pictures of each object or number.
Using a Bingo game is a fun way to reinforce numbers by having students cover the
numbers on their cards that you call out in Spanish. Of course, everyone will want a turn
to be the caller, so you can get to see who is having trouble with the correct
pronunciation. By using games and songs, you can teach farm animals, the alphabet,
colors, the members of the family – just about any vocabulary words you need to teach.
Young students become actively involved in the songs, especially ones where they have
to do actions. Movement helps them get involved as well, so you can teach a Spanish
dance as part of one or more of your lessons.
