Article marketing can be one of the most productive and rewarding work you will ever do online, if you do enough of it, and if you submit effectively.

Why do I say, do enough of it? If you write one article, it can truly be hit or miss whether it gets a lot of traffic. Some days I submit 10 articles and most of them get 20 hits each the first day, and one will get 500. If I just submitted one or two, and they were the ones with 20 hits each, I might get discouraged. But I don’t, because I have over 250 articles published with over 1000 hits per day and over 30 new subscribers daily?

So how do you submit effectively?

The real question here is, what are you submitting for?

If you are submitting for the readership and for search engine hits directly to the article, then you are best off submitting multiple articles to just a few of the highest - traffic article directories.

Here are some of the best: ezinearticles, goarticles, and searchwarp. Both ezinearticles and searchwarp have handy stats sections where you can see how many hits your articles receive, and searchwarp even tells you which search engine they came from and with which keyword.

If, on the other hand, you have just launched a new web site, and want to focus on getting 500 backlinks in a few days, write just one article and submit it to 500 article directories. This method will take more time, and is downright boring, but if backlinks is what you want, go for it.
