Which Is The Best Bollywood Movie Of The Year 2007?

The year 2007 saw a lot of Bollywood movies succeeding because they were 'truly' different in terms of scripting and presentation. Humor defined 2007 and tragedy defied 2007. If there was a comic- psychological thriller in the form of Bhool Bhulaiya, there was also pure slapstick comedy in the form of Dhamaal. If crime made money in Shoot out at Lokhandwala, so did love in Jab we met. It was also the year where experimental movies like Bheja Fry and Life in a Metro succeeded breaking off from the regular masala potboiler tradition.

Bollywood 2007 also the flopping of big banners, and a lot of commercial upsets of movies which were touted to be huge successes. A case in the point is Ram Gopal Verma ki Aag which is supposed to be the worst movie made ever! Apart from these, there were other flops like Jhoom Barabar Jhoom, Saawariya and No Smoking, all of them vanishing without a trace.

2007 was a year for sports, fun and games. Movies like Chak de, Goal and Apne did good business. Chak de incidentally the second biggest hit of the year bowing to the biggest Bollywood blockbuster Om Shanti Om. Both Chak de and Om Shanti Om starred the ever popular Indian star Shahrukh Khan. Simply put, the King Khan had a super year. As for the other popular star in India, Akshay Kumar, he almost came close in upsurping Khan with four back to back hits this year-Bhagambhag, Namastey London (with excellent collection in Great Britain), Heyy Babyy and Bhool Bhulaiya. Last year's star Hrithik Roshan did not have a single release in 2007.
