Recording Rap Instumentals With A Home Studio

Recording a cd a or an album used to be a very expensive task that took a lot of time and resources but now with the computer age getting bigger and better, any one with a pentium 4 processor and at leat 512 megabytes of RAM can record when ever they wan right from home. There really is no need to bust your bank account and go to a high powered studio anymore unless you are releasing a nationally distributed album under a big label. If that is not what you are trying to do then you really don't need anything more than a mic and a pc.

Now a days you can take a rap instrumental and load it into a software program, plug your mic into your sound card and then hit record. Thats the beauty of technology, all you need is software and a mic and your in show business. Now there are alot of different software programs that you can choose from. Most of them are priced high but they are worth it if you want to save money on studio time.

One of the best programs that you may want to invest in is called Pro Tools Le. Pro Tools is an industry standard program which means the entire music industry uses it. What that means for you is when you when you load your rap instrumentals up and record your vocals over the track your finished product will be at or near the same quality as those high class studios. All you need to do is mix and master it and you are all set. Usually Pro Tools would cost you up to $2,000 or more but they also make a version for home studio called the M Box. Its the hardware device that you use to plug in the mic and the program it self. It costs around $500 and it is well worth the money.

Another good program is Adobe Audition. I don't think it costs as much as the Pro Tools program and it is not as widely used in the professional world but it is a quality product for home studios. It will allow you to mix, master and do much of the same thing that Pro Tools does. Just load your rap instrumental, set you mic levels and make your baningin tracks. No expensive hourly rate, record when ever you want and make as many albums as you can handle. Its all under your control!
